Which one when

A day in RigaAny of the three: parking on Riga's municipal streets is included (CityBee: all zones except R, the Old Town).

The beach at JūrmalaCityBee, no entry pass to buy, or Carguru; both can end the trip there.

With a small childCarguru: a booster in every car. With CityBee, filter the app for one.

On to Vilnius or TallinnCityBee: leave it in Tallinn for free, in Lithuania for €69.

Airports

Riga (RIX)

All three services stand in car park P4, about a 7-minute walk (600 m) from the terminal.

Ending at the airport

Carguru charges €3 (enter P4 through barrier 7, park in the marked bays). CityBee and Bolt show their fee in the app.

Starting at the airport

Free with Carguru. Check the map in the apps before you leave the terminal to see which cars are waiting in P4.

Between cities and countries

CityBee: park for free and end your trip in Riga, Jūrmala, Liepāja, Ventspils and Ādaži; in Daugavpils only in two zones.
Carguru: start and end only in Riga, at the airport or in Jūrmala; drive anywhere in Latvia in between.
Bolt: zones reach Jūrmala, Sigulda, Ogre and Jelgava; only some cars may end a trip in another town, for a fee.

Parking and fuel

Riga's municipal paid parking is included. CityBee: every zone except R (the Old Town); Carguru: all zones.
Never end a trip in private car parks (Europark, Citypark, Unipark), underground or behind a barrier.
Jūrmala charges €5 a day to enter by car. CityBee says its users don't need a pass; check the others in their app.

Before you go

Register before you fly: a photo of your licence and a bank card.
Bring a photocard licence. CityBee does not accept International Driving Permits or temporary licences.
Minimum age: CityBee 19, Bolt 20 (1 year's experience), Carguru 21 (2 years).

Be ready for

Ending outside a zone is expensive: €300 at CityBee, €99 + €1 per km at Bolt.
Bolt and Carguru don't let you leave Latvia without approval.
Winter tyres are compulsory from 1 December to 1 March. The operators fit them, but plan for slower roads.
Cars can be switched off on New Year's night, and the Old Town closes to traffic during events.
