  • One price for every size. A Nissan Qashqai costs the same as a Toyota Yaris.
  • Relocation deals: when CityBee needs a car moved, it shows on the map almost free. I've seen Vilnius → Riga for €10 and Vilnius → Palanga for €40.

Spark

Electric

Best for: City and seaside trips inside Lithuania

  • Electric only: on long trips you'll stop to charge more often.
  • The best long plans: 3 days with 1,000 km, or a full week.

  • The only one with a day rental where fuel is not included: lots of kilometres a day (up to about 1,000 in my experience) and you fill up yourself.
  • I've driven it to Latvia, Estonia and Poland, but Bolt's terms say a trip has to end in the country where it started. Check the app before you cross.

Which one when

A few hours in townAny of the three: compare the per-minute and hourly prices in the apps.
A weekend at the seaCityBee or Spark. Leave the car in Klaipėda, or in Palanga in summer.
A long drive in a day or twoBolt's day rental: many kilometres, you buy the fuel.
With a small childCityBee or Bolt: a booster is usually in the car. Spark has none.
On to Riga or TallinnCityBee: you can leave the car there.

Airports

Vilnius (VNO)

All three. CityBee and Bolt park right at the entrance. Collecting and returning there costs a few euros each way (about €5–6; the app shows it). Spark is a 7-minute walk away, a little cheaper.

Kaunas (KUN)

You can pick up and leave cars here too. The airport is close to town.

If no car is waiting

There are more cars in the morning and afternoon, fewer in the evening. Both airports are almost in town: a taxi to the nearest free car costs €5–10.

Gabriel

Before you unlock, think about kilometres, days and car size, then compare the packages in all three apps. Sometimes CityBee wins, sometimes Spark, sometimes Bolt.

From the club

Watch the CityBee map before a trip to Riga: relocation deals turn up there and cost a fraction of the normal price.

Landing in the evening? Check the apps before you leave the plane. If the airport is empty, a taxi to the nearest car is cheaper than waiting.
